Job Purpose The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Western Cape Government has an employment opportunity for a competent individual to render isiXhosa language support services to the Western Cape Government. This post is based in Cape Town CBD.
Minimum Requirements An appropriate 3-year tertiary qualification (National Diploma/B-Degree or higher qualification); A minimum of 1 year relevant work experience;
Recommendation Working knowledge of editing and translation of documents; Well versed in English and IsiXhosa
Key Performance Areas Render language advisory services; Translate documents in the official languages; Edit documents; Facilitate provision of interpreting services; Develop and record terminology; Compile and maintain databases relating to language matters; Perform administrative tasks.
Competencies Proven computer literacy; Communication (written and verbal) skills; Planning and organising skills.
Remuneration R 316 791 per annum (Salary level 8) Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees’ service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
